Jerry Yang and David Filo were students at Stanford University in January 1994, when a Web site that they created as “Jerry’s Guide to the World Wide Web”, a directory that organized other web sites in a hierarchy . Four months later Yang and Filo renamed the search engine Yahoo! for a word from Jonathan Swift in “Gulliver’s Travels” is used. Swift definition of Yahoo was “rude, unsophisticated, uncouth.”

With a keen eye on the future, the powers in charge at Yahoo! to create Yahoo! Next, a concept similar to Google Labs, the forums provide places for Yahoo, for feedback, which can contain hopefully help in the development of future Work Yahoo! businesses and technologies.

Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo Merchant Solutions, Yahoo Store, Yahoo Web Hosting, Yahoo Domains, E-Mail and Yahoo Business Services Yahoo! offers for small businesses, allowing them to develop their own online business using Yahoo! tools.
In March 2004, launched a Yahoo! paid inclusion program that guaranteed commercial websites listings on search engines Yahoo! for a fee. While the inclusions were paid for Yahoo! lucrative, they where unpopular with the online marketing world. Entrepreneurs did not want to pay to the Internet mogul for search engine optimization. Paid inclusion simply guarantees that the company would place on websites, it does not guarantee that it would be counted in the first two pages
